The Anglo-Boer War saw some of the largest, bravest, and botched actions in the history of the British Army. Over 50 of these were fought in the Johannesburg-Pretoria-Swartruggens triangle and many of the battle sites are remarkably preserved to this day.

1/2 day Tour -Ben Viljeon & Defence of Kleinfontein 

Covering the Kleinfontein Plateau area of  the battle, where Ben Viljoen dug in his defences to frustrate General Ian  Hamilton , sit in the stone defences where Johnny Boer watched 6000 troops approach from Zwavelpoort . Visit the Boer Memorial and the Commonwealth Cemetery- Duration approx 3 hours – Price R400pp

Self Drive Tour

Accommodating all ages the flexibility of the Self Drive tour is very popular . We will design the tour to suit your preference without missing out on some of the great battle sites such as Diamond Hill, Rhenosterkop, Witpoort ,Balmoral, Bakenlaagte, Wilmansrust, Grootvlei ,Whisky Train Incident, The Val Hotel and surrounding area rich with battles and skirmishes ‘amongst the farms

Full Day Tour 4×4

Covering the entire Left Flank of General Louis Botha’s defence and General Ian Hamilton’s attack from Rhenosterfontein to Kleinfontein, Boer Memorial,Commonwealth Cemetery and Afrikaner Cultural Centre.Lunch at Legends Bistro .Drive along Rhenosterfontein Ridge to see the remarkable defences  Duration 6 hours- R600 per vehicle ( Lunch for own account)

Rhenosterkop-Self Drive & Cheese Farm

Self drive tour starting with the drive to the top of the majestic Rhenosterkop for an overview of the complete Battlefield  we then travel on with further stops  and exclusive access to Gen Viljoens and Mullers laagers. *We finish the day at Qodesh Cheese Farm where you can sample the cheese boards have afternoon tea and feed the goats *Optional

Rhenosterkop/Balmoral Weekend-( Guests can arrive Friday evening)

Staying at the wonderful and historic Dirks Place with camping or Chalets options our tour starts Saturday morning ,covering Rhenosterkop followed by a game drive or 4×4 experience .After a wholesome Sunday Breakfast provided by Dirk we visit the family cemetery of General Hertzog and then drive the farm roads to Balmoral where we explore the battle site and visit the concentration camp. Refreshments at The Anglo Boer Pub & Restaurant .
